Aditya Hridaya Stotra

Aditya Hridaya Stotra is perhaps the most important hymn to Surya Dev (Sun). It was given to Lord Ram by Rishi Agastya on the battle field of Ram Ravan war, on the day Ravan was to be slain.

Sun represents honor, fame, social status, father, eyes, soul, self, self esteem, deliberate action, bones, belly, heart and digestion. His weakness results in diminution of everything mentioned above.

Daily listening to Aditya Hriday Stotra ensures happiness, prosperity, and decimation of all opposition. The Stotra generates powerful vibrations which neutralize the effect of all negativity caused by other eight planets in the horoscope. It is a complete prayer that removes all problems from the life of an individual.

Three chants of this Stotra before embarking on an important project ensures its completion without impediments. The chants also remove great fear during a crisis by giving unflinching self confidence.

The Stotra in the video embedded here has been sung by Shubha Mudgal. Her clear voice effortlessly conveys the energy of the Stotra and her flawless pronunciation makes it a distinct pleasure to listen to it. It is a natural winner.

In daily practice, Karanyas and Hridayadi Nyas are essential before starting the chant. The procedure can be best understood by perusing Durga Sapta Shati published by Geeta Press Gorakhpur.
