Nakshatra - the template of our lives Part II

Free Vedic astrology article
A look at this system will make it abundantly clear that human nature is not an isolated phenomenon where Aries differs from Taurus and Taurus differs from Gemini. Instead, it is a smooth transition from one Pada (quarter) of a Nakshatra to another. The following table makes it easier to understand how nature and characteristics of humans are modified as we move along the Zodiac.

Each Nakshatra is ruled by a planet which defines the character of that Nakshatra. At the time of birth, which ever Nakshatra Moon happens to be transiting becomes the birth Nakshatra and the planet ruling the Nakshatra becomes the Maha Dasha lord. Depending upon the degree of Moon in that Nakshatra the Maha Dasha or the Major Period of that planet is determined. The duration of the Maha Dasha is calculated by finding out how many degrees The Moon has traveled in that Nakshatra. Technically speaking, the birth Nakshatra helps us to set the human biological clock of the new born to zero so we can start measuring the time lapsed and match it to the planetary periods running in the chart to make correct predictions.

Nakshatras can be grouped in different ways. One classification is done on the basis of the suitability of different Nakshatras for different purposes. Suppose I want to do something which is of a long term nature like buying land, planting seeds, getting new clothes etc. I would get the best results if I did these activities when Moon was in Dhruva (Immovable) Nakshatras like Rohini, Uttar Phalguni, Uttar Ashadh or Uttar Bhadra. Similarly activities of a quick nature like selling something, dating, a walk in the park, sexual intercourse would be best done under Kshipra (Fast moving) Nakshatras like Hasta, Ashwini, Pushya and Abhijit.

The following table explains it all.
