How planets affect our lives through Dasha system? Part IV
Free Vedic astrology article on Dasha system.
Now that we know how Dasha system works, let us use it by putting everything together. Let us take the case of a child born on February 11, 2010 at 16.52 in Phoenix AZ.
The longitude of Moon is 6° 13’ and she is placed in Uttar Ashadh Nakshatra in Capricorn in the birth chart. Referring to our table given earlier we find that the planet ruling Uttar Ashadh Nakshatra is Sun who has a Dasha period of six years. Out of 13° 20’ allocated to Uttar Ashadh Nakshatra, Moon has already traversed 9° 33’ leaving a remainder of 3° 47’ which she has yet to travel. This by simple mathematics comes to be equal to 1 year, 8 months and 12 days of Sun Maha Dasha still remaining to be experienced by this new born. Once that is over she will experience 10 years of Moon Maha Dasha, seven years of Mars Maha Dasha and so on…
This whole process is simplified by using Lahiri’s ephemeris which converts the longitude of Moon to years and months directly. Sub period or Antar Dasha can also be calculated easily.
When written in a sequence it looks like this. The date format is DD/MM/YY
Sun/Mercury/Rahu 01/2/2010
Sun/Mercury/Jupiter 19/3/2010
Sun/Mercury/Saturn 29/4/2010
We find that Mercury is ruling over the sub period currently. So what does it tell us?
Let us analyze Moon closely. She is the Ascendant lord and is placed close to Sun. She is therefore weak. This weakness will translate into ill health during infancy and later. Chest and breathing related complains are very likely. Mars aspects Moon from Ascendant so an injury to head will take place quite early. Moon is conjunct with Mercury who is weak. This adds salt to injury. It is certain now that chest complaints will trouble the baby throughout his life. Digestion will be poor.
These problems will manifest more until the end of Mercury sub period on June 16, 2010. The next period is of Ketu and he is placed in the twelfth house in the sign of Mercury. This shows that health problems will continue in Ketu sub period as well.
This is an example of how predictions are made using Dasha system.
